A 40 pin male header is a form of electrical connector, often associated with ribbon cable connector. It consists of one or more rows of pins typically spaced 0.1 inches (2.54 mm) apart, but sometimes 2 millimetres (0.079 in) or 0.05 inches (1.27 mm) is used as well. In addition to being used to connect to a ribbon cable connector, pin headers often also function as recipients for jumpers.
