Each wheel is comprised of a series of rollers, Using rollers set of 45° rotational axis parallel to the rotational axis of the wheel. The set of 60mm mecanum wheels include 2 left wheels and 2 right wheels. You can also use universal hubs to connect the wheels and motor. All of you need to do is to add your drive motor, controller boards, and batteries.
Moving all four wheels in forward and backward cause direction causes the robot to move in forward and backward. Running wheels opposite to each other on each side causes the robot to move in a lateral way without changing orientation. Other speeds and direction combinations cause the robot to move in different directions. The main advantage of the Mecanum wheels above Omnidirectional wheels is that all four wheels contribute force when the robot is moving in forward, backward, left or right direction without changing orientation.
